The Ministry of Minorities is a Cabinet-leveled ministry of the Government of Pakistan. The ministry's political figure is known as the Minister for Minorities. Shahbaz Bhatti served in this position from 2008 until March 2, 2011, when he was assassinated in Islamabad.
The Ministry of Minorities was founded in September 2004. Prior to that its function was carried out by the Minorities Wing of former Ministry of Minorities, Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs.[1]
